Is the awakening of the unlimited potential that already exists in every human. It is the awakening of the self and thus Kundalini yoga is often referred to as the yoga of awareness. It is normal capacity that most of us are simply not utilizing – it is the goal of all yoga!
In Kundalini there is no “perfect posture” to attain and little concern with alignment. The focus is breath and movement and thus accessible by all. It is an energizing and elevating practice. The way Kundalini yoga differs is its direct focus on moving the energy through the chakra system(stimulating the energy in the lower chakras and moving it to the higher chakras). It concentrates prana (life energy) in the lower chakras, raises it to the higher chakras, and then balances all the chakras.
Classes in Kundalini yoga include centering with a mantra, warm-up, a specific yoga set known as a Kriya, deep relaxation and meditation.
